
THUNDER SELECTS THOMAS SORBER IN THE 2025 NBA DRAFT – OKLAHOMA CITY ACQUIRES 2027 FIRST-ROUND DRAFT PICK
OKLAHOMA CITY, June 25, 2025 – The Oklahoma City Thunder selected forward/center Thomas Sorber with the 15th overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. The Thunder also acquired a 2027 first-round draft pick from the Sacramento Kings (via the San Antonio Spurs) as part of a separate transaction in exchange for the draft rights to guard Nique Clifford, the 24th overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, it was announced today by Executive Vice President and General Manager Sam Presti.
During his freshman season at Georgetown, Sorber appeared in 24 games and averaged 14.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 2.0 blocks and 1.5 steals in 31.3 minutes. He ranked second on the team in scoring and second in the nation in rebounding among freshmen.
The New Jersey native was named a unanimous 2024-25 Big East All-Freshman team selection and also received All-Big East Third Team honors during his lone season with the Hoyas.
