Recap from Bobby Thompson
The Oklahoma City Thunder looking for that first win after the All-Star break, ran into a very good offensive team in the Sacramento Kings. Despite the Thunder showing good offense themselves in the 3rd quarter, De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis were too much for OKC as the Kings won 124-115. Jalen Williams got off to a good start ending with 15 points. Isaiah Joe, on the other hand, had a slow first half but got hot in the second half scoring 20+ for the second straight game. The Thunder missed All-Star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander who missed his second straight game with injury. The Thunder are off tomorrow before they re-match the Kings on Tuesday night here in Paycom Center.

NBA All-Star Weekend Highlights
MON 02/13/23 New Orleans Pelicans 103 @ OKC Thunder 100
Recap from Bobby Thompson
The Thunder had hopes of getting back to .500 tonight against the New Orleans Pelicans. Unfortunately the Pelicans, once again without 2 of their 3 best players, had other ideas. They took control early and despite multiple comeback efforts, the Pels win it 103-100 dropping the Thunder 2 games under the .500 mark. Brandon Ingram was great early and great late, hitting some difficult jumpers to keep OKC at bay. Shai scored 24 points on 8-21 shooting. Jalen Williams (Santa Clara) was good offensively with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. The Thunder have one more game before the All-Star break. They will battle the Rockets coming up on Wednesday night.
FRI 02/10/23 OKC Thunder 138 @ Portland Trailblazers 129
Recap from Bobby Thompson
The Thunder coming off that win vs the Lakers, looked for a 2-1 road trip against the Portland Trailblazers. OKC was already 2-0 against Portland this season and after a huge fourth quarter, they are now 3-0 defeating the Blazers 138-129. It was a free throw festival as the teams combined for 66 free throw attempts. Shai tied his career high with 44 points and Lu Dort, coming off a 6 game absence, scored 18 off the bench. Damian Lillard was really good as well scoring 38 points, hitting 6 threes but it wasn’t enough as the Thunder get the road victory and win the season series. The Thunder have two games left before the All-Star break. First one is Monday night as they take on the New Orleans Pelicans. Tip-off is at 7.
TUE 02/07/23 OKC Thunder 133 @ LA Lakers 130
Recap from Bobby Thompson
Tonight was all about Lebron James. James needed 36 points to pass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for most points in NBA history. With just over 10 seconds left in the 3rd quarter, Lebron hit a tough shot over Kenrich Williams to break the record.
As far as the rest of the game goes, the Thunder did their job. They win the game 133-130. The Lakers defense continue to struggle as there was no stopping the Thunder on the way to the basket. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored the ball well with 30 but it was the play of rookie Jalen Williams. J-Dub was offensively aggressive and he finished the game with 25 points and a crazy 6 steals. Mike Muscala hit four threes off the bench for his 16 points. Thunder have a couple days off before they battle Portland, coming up on Friday.

SAT 02/04/23 Houston Rockets 121 @ OKC Thunder 153
WED 02/01/23 OKC Thunder 106 @ Houston Rockets 112
Recap from Bobby Thompson
In a season where the unexpected continues to happen, the Rockets played without two of their better guards and still were able to beat the Thunder 112-106 down in Houston. To be fair to OKC, they did play without Lu Dort for the 3rd consecutive game. Something you can’t say very often is that Shai struggled from the field going 7-23 for 24 points. Josh Giddey pitched in 20 and Tre Mann, off the bench, had 18. The Rockets were led by Eric Gordon with 25 points. Houston also received bench help with rookie Tari Eason scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds including an amazing 12 rebounds on the offensive glass. OKC was down nine at the end of 1 and at half. They had a great third quarter but couldn’t keep it up in the fourth falling by six. If you enjoyed this game, you can see it again on Saturday, this time inside Paycom Center.
MON 01/30/23 Golden State Warriors 128 @ OKC Thunder 120
FRI 01/27/23 Cleveland Cavaliers 100 @ OKC Thunder 112
Recap from Bobby Thompson
The Cleveland Cavaliers come into the night tied for 4th in the Eastern Conference. They have really good pieces and have had an excellent season. Donovan Mitchell was not able to go and that ended up hurting the Cavs as the Thunder beat the Cavs 112-100 inside Paycom Center. Shai, once again, was the man scoring 21 in the first half and 35 in the game. This game was won in the late 3rd and early 4th as the bench unit came in and took control of this game. Shai came back in and along with J-Dub, finished off the Cavaliers. Darius Garland and Evan Mobley were good with 31 and 23 points a piece but the Cavaliers didn’t bring it in the second half and the Thunder win the game and split the season series 1-1. The Thunder have the weekend off and will tangle with the splash brothers and Golden State, coming up Monday night.
WED 01/25/23 Atlanta Hawks 132 @ OKC Thunder 137
SUN 01/22/23 OKC Thunder 101 @ Denver Nuggets 99
Recap from Bobby Thompson
The Oklahoma City Thunder finishing up a 2 game road trip in style by beating the Denver Nuggets 101-99. The Nuggets have the best record in the West but they played very shorthanded without Michael Porter Jr and also without 2 time defending and MVP favorite Nikola Jokic. Thunder offense wasn’t great in the fourth but a big shot with nine seconds left by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander gave them the 2 point lead. Another clutch player, Jamal Murray, tried to answer but couldn’t get a shot to fall and the Thunder win. Shai ended up with 34 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and Josh Giddey added 18. Jamal Murray was good with 26 but needed two more to force OT. Thunder head home now where they will tangle with Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks. That game is Wednesday. Tip time is 7 p.m.

4 In A Row!
SUN 01/15/23 OKC Thunder 112 @ Brooklyn Nets 102
Recap from Bobby Thompson
The Oklahoma City Thunder finished a 4 game road trip today against the Brooklyn Nets. After a 37 point fourth quarter, the Thunder pulled away and won the game 112-102. Shai scored 28 but he had help. Second year guard Josh Giddey continued to play very well as he tallied 28 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 assists to help the Thunder get the win. All-Star Kyrie Irving went 7-20 for 15 points and was held in check by Lu Dort and company but Seth Curry stepped up with 21 points off the Nets bench. Thunder get a couple days off before they tangle with the Pacers inside Paycom Center, Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
THU 01/12/23 OKC Thunder 133 @ Philadelphia 76ers 114
Recap from Bobby Thompson
The Oklahoma City Thunder have had some impressive wins this season. Boston and Memphis were a couple but those were at home. Tonight might be the best yet as they defeat the Philadelphia 76ers in Philly 133-114. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander lived at the line hitting 16-16 and scoring 37 and Tre Mann scored 14 off the bench to lead OKC. Joel Embiid had 30 and 10 but was in foul trouble most of the first half when the Thunder built a double digit lead. The 76ers put two good runs together in the second half but the Thunder had the answer and they win the game running their road trip record to 1-1.
Up next is the Chicago Bulls Friday night. Tip time is 7 p.m.
TUE 01/10/23 OKC Thunder 111 @ Miami Heat 112
Recap from Bobby Thompson
The Oklahoma City Thunder just finished an 11 out of 13 at home streak going 7-6. Now they hit the road for four in a row starting tonight against the Miami Heat. Miami was missing 4 starters but they were NOT missing Jimmy Butler. Jimmy makes 6 shots and scores 35 points. I know that seems mathematically impossible, but it’s not when a guy goes 23-23 from the free throw line. His performance helped the Heat beat the Thunder 112-111. The Heat set an NBA record by going 40-40 from the free throw line which is the most attempts without a miss. Shai scores 26 and shot 50% but had 6 turnovers. Josh Giddey, in his first nationally televised appearance, had a triple double with 18 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists. Thunder had a 5 point lead with 45 seconds left but an Oladipo 3 and then a Jimmy Butler 3 point play gave the Heat the one point win.
Thunder head to Philadelphia to tangle with the 76ers on Thursday. Tip off is at 6 pm.
Sun 01/08/23 Dallas Mavericks 109 @ OKC Thunder 120
Recap from Bobby Thompson
The Oklahoma City Thunder just completed a stretch where they had 11 games out of 13 inside Paycom center. In that stretch they finished with a winning record at 7-6 after a 118-108 win over the Dallas Mavericks. As has become a regular occurrence, the Thunder opponent was without a key cog as Luka Doncic sat this game out with foot pain and his loss was felt in the Mavericks loss. Christian Wood stepped in with 27 points and 16 rebounds but it wasn’t enough to get the win. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had 23 points in the second half (33 total) to lead the Thunder in scoring. Kenrich Williams was huge early for the Thunder scoring 8 of the first 12 Thunder points. He finished with 14 points and 9 big rebounds to help the Thunder cause. The Thunder head out on the road for four games starting Tuesday with a national television game against the Miami Heat. Tip off is 6:30.
FRI 01/06/23 Washington Wizards 110 @ OKC Thunder 127
WED 01/04/23 OKC Thunder 115 @ Orlando Magic 126
Recap from Bobby Thompson
The Oklahoma City Thunder, coming off a huge 150 point night as they blew out the Celtics last night, couldn’t get it going tonight in Orlando. The Magic defeated the Thunder 126-115. First overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft looked the part as Paolo Banchero hit the Thunder for 25 points 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Orlando only had nine players in uniform and eight of them scored in double figures as the Magic ended a 3 game losing streak. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 33 points but the Thunder found themselves down 22 in the third and just couldn’t overcome that deficit. Thunder are off tomorrow and will be back in Paycom Center on Friday as they host the Washington Wizards.
Another HALF COURT shot winner!
TUE 01/03/23 Boston Celtics 117 @ OKC Thunder 150
Recap from Bobby Thompson
The Oklahoma City Thunder set out tonight to play the best team, record-wise, in the NBA. Then they found out last minute that they would be without lead scorer Shai Gilgeous-Alexander due to a non-Covid sickness. Tough assignment ahead? Apparently not. The Thunder took the Celtics behind the woodshed beating them 150-117 inside Paycom Center. Seven Thunder players scored in double figures including five scoring 21 or more. Josh Giddey led the Thunder with 25 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists. Tre Mann and Isaiah Joe scored 21 each off the Thunder bench as the Thunder shot a ridiculous 59% from the field. Jaylen Brown scored 29 and Jason Tatum added 27 but this game was never close as the Thunder get the home win.
Thunder will be back at it tomorrow early against the Orlando Magic. Tip time is 6 p.m.
SAT 12/31/22 Philadelphia 76ers 115 @ OKC Thunder 96
THU 12/29/22 OKC Thunder 113 @ Charlotte Hornets 121
TUE 12/27/22 San Antonio Spurs 114 @ OKC Thunder 130
The Oklahoma City Thunder completed their longest home stand of the season tonight against the San Antonio Spurs. The Thunder were 3-3 coming into tonight and thanks to another impressive outing from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, they were able to secure a winning home stand beating the spurs 130-114 inside Paycom Center. Shai was guarded well by San Antonio but still was able to muster 28 points and he also dished out 8 assists. The Spurs continue to have one of the worst records in the league and even Coach Greg Popovich couldn’t stand watching them play as he was tossed in the first half after some choice words with an official.
Thunder go on the road for 1 game, Thursday against the Charlotte Hornets.
FRI 12/23/22 New Orleans Pelicans 128 @ OKC Thunder 125
Recap from Bobby Thompson
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander went out and set a new career high in scoring with 44 points against the Pelicans. Unfortunately it wasn’t enough as New Orleans beat OKC 128-125. This game followed a similar pattern as the Thunder got down big in the first half only to come all the way back and take a fourth quarter lead. The Pelicans, on the second night of a back to back, had every reason to fold the tents up. Instead they came thru with a comeback of their own to send the game to OT and then win it in the extra session. Trey Murphy III had 23 to lead the Pels.
The Thunder have the Christmas holidays off before returning to Paycom Center on Dec. 27 to take on the Spurs.
WED 12/21/22 Portland Trailblazers 98 @ OKC Thunder 101
Recap from Bobby Thompson
The Oklahoma City Thunder coming off of the last second win vs Portland on Monday, didn’t need a buzzer beater tonight as they beat the Blazers 101-98 inside Paycom Center. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led them again with 27 but he had help. Jalen Williams pitched in with 15 including a dunk to give the Thunder their final lead. Josh Giddey also played well coming off missing a couple of games due to sickness. Giddey had 13 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists. Lu Dort did a fantastic job on Damian Lillard holding him to 16 points on 6-19 shooting.
The Thunder are back at it at home on Friday. They will take on the New Orleans Pelicans.
MON 12/19/22 Portland Trailblazers 121 @ OKC Thunder 123
Recap from Bobby Thompson
The fans at Paycom Center got to see 2 of the best clutch players in the NBA and both of them hit clutch shots. Damian Lillard scored 2 of his 28 points with 3 seconds left to tie the game at 121-121. Shai comes back and hits a baseline jumper at the buzzer to give OKC a two point win. Shai finished with 35 points and six assists as well as the game winner. Lillard hit two free throws during the game to make him the most points in Portland Trailblazers history, an amazing accomplishment.
These 2 teams will see each other again on Wednesday. Tip-off at 7 p.m.
SAT 12/17/22 Memphis Grizzlies 109 @ OKC Thunder 115
Recap from Bobby Thompson
The Thunder, losers of 5 in a row, took on the Memphis Grizzlies who have won 7 straight. The Thunder also played without Josh Giddey, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Darius Bazely, and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl. Sounds like a recipe for disaster. It absolutely was a disaster, but it was a disaster for the Grizzlies. The Thunder shot the three exceptionally well making 11 in the first half and the Grizzlies didn’t handle it well. Ja Morant picks up two technicals and was ejected. The second half was more of a fist fight as the Grizzlies did their best to come back, but it was not to be as the Thunder win it 115-109. Lu Dort led the Thunder tonight with 24 points and Isaiah Joe added 23.
The Thunder are back at it on Monday when they take on the Portland Trailblazers.
FRI 12/16/22 Minnesota Timberwolves 112 @ OKC Thunder 110
Recap from Bobby Thompson
The Oklahoma City Thunder came into tonight short handed missing Robinson Earl, Kenrich Williams, and Darius Bazely. The Timberwolves were even more short handed missing 3 of the 4 best players in Karl Anthony Towns, D’Angelo Russell, and Rudy Gobert. This game followed the typical script. The Thunder got down big and then came all the way back. Down the stretch the Timberwolves got just enough stops and NBA journeyman Austin Rivers made a huge 3 to help Minnesota win the game 112-110. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 35 including 23 in the 3rd quarter. Timberwolves backup big man Naz Reid had 28.
WED 12/14/22 Miami Heat 110 @ OKC Thunder 108
Recap from Bobby Thompson
In the Mavericks game, it was the three-point shot that doomed Oklahoma City. Tonight against the Heat, it was much the same. The Heat made a franchise record 24 threes on their way to a 110-108 victory. Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander goes for 27 points 8 rebounds and seven assists, but it was not enough as Tyler Herro hit a jumpshot with four seconds left to give Miami the win. The Thunder are back at it at home Friday night when they tangle with the Timberwolves.
MON 12/12/22 OKC Thunder 114 @ Dallas Mavericks 121
Recap from Bobby Thompson
The Oklahoma City Thunder and the Dallas Mavericks do nothing but play close games. Going into tonight, the 50 meetings between these two teams have been decided by 1 total point and the last 2 games have gone to OT. No OT tonight but still a very competitive game. Luka Doncic was too much down the stretch giving the Mavericks a 121-114 win. The Thunder continued to fight to the end but the Mavericks, who are a poor free throw shooting team, made the ones that matter to seal the victory. Doncic and Shai had a great battle scoring 38 and 42 respectively but the 3 point shooting of the Mavericks was the story. They hit 10 threes in the 2nd quarter alone and 22 for the game which the Thunder couldn’t quite overcome. Rookie Jalen Williams had a great second half, finishing with 17 for the game.
The Thunder go 2-3 on the 5 game road trip and now they head home for 7 in a row, starting with the Miami Heat, this Wednesday at 7 pm.
SAT 12/10/22 OKC Thunder 102 @ Cleveland Cavaliers 110
WED 12/07/22 OKC Thunder 102 @ Memphis Grizzlies 123
MON 12/05/22 OKC Thunder 121 @ Atlanta Hawks 114
Recap from Bobby Thompson
The Oklahoma City Thunder started off the road trip in style with a victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves. They followed it up tonight with another strong effort against the Atlanta Hawks. Thunder put 6 guys in double figures including rookie Ousmane Dieng with 15 points on 6-8 shooting. The first 3 quarters were close but the Thunder made some big shots in the fourth. The Hawks had to play the foul game and the Thunder made all of the necessary free throws to take this game, 121-114. Trae Young, who has been involved in a controversy, this week in the ATL, was cold from the field all night long. He finished with 23 points on 6-19 shooting. Shai also didn’t shoot the ball well but he went above 30 points once again and helped the Thunder win their 3rd consecutive game.
The Thunder continue the road trip on Wednesday when they take on the Memphis Grizzlies.
SAT 12/03/22 OKC Thunder 128 @ Minnesota Timberwolves 135
Recap from Bobby Thompson
The Oklahoma City Thunder and Minnesota Timberwolves tried to play a basketball game tonight but it turned into a heavyweight fight. The two teams combined for 7 technical fouls and a flagrant 2 which led to an automatic ejection for Timberwolves big man Rudy Gobert. After all the madness, Jalen Williams goes 4-4 to start the 4th quarter and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scores 33 points and the Thunder beat the Wolves 135-128 in Minnesota. D’Angelo Russell had a rare good shooting game scoring 27 but he didn’t finish the game getting tossed in the 4th quarter. Oklahoma City continues this 5 game road trip on Monday as they tussle with the Atlanta Hawks.
WED 11/30/22 San Antonio Spurs 117 @ OKC Thunder 119
Recap from Bobby Thompson
For one night, it was no Shai no problem for the Oklahoma City Thunder. They defeated the San Antonio Spurs 119-117. The Thunder were down by 20 in the first half but erased that lead in the 3rd. Lou Dort scored the ball well going 7-15 for his 25 points and rookie Jalen Williams scored a career high 27 points including a floater to put them up 4 late.
The Thunder hit the road for 5 in a row starting with Minnesota on Saturday.
MON 11/28/22 OKC Thunder 101 @ New Orleans Pelicans 105
Recap from Bobby Thompson
The Oklahoma City Thunder had a great opportunity to get a road win against the very shorthanded New Orleans Pelicans, but it wasn’t to be as the Pelicans win it 105-101. There were plenty of controversial calls in this one with the last one being a charge against Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander with 2 seconds left. Pelicans defensive star Herb Jones took the charge and that allowed the Pels to make a couple of free throws for the 4 point winning margin. Shai didn’t shoot the ball well but he hit a ton of free throws to end up with 31 points. Jeremiah Robinson-Earl added a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds. Zion Williamson was the Pelicans leading scorer with 23 points. He also had 8 boards and 8 assists. Trey Murphy III started for C.J. McCullum and scored 20 including a big 4th quarter three.
The Thunder head home for one game on Wednesday as they tangle with the San Antonio Spurs.
SAT 11/26/22 OKC Thunder 105 @ Houston Rockets 118
FRI 11/25/22 Chicago Bulls 119 @ OKC Thunder 123 (OT)
Recap from Bobby Thompson
The Oklahoma City Thunder have become a fan of home overtimes. After dropping a game to the Nuggets in OT on the day before Thanksgiving, the Thunder decided to play 5 more minutes on the day after turkey day when they played the Bulls. DeMar DeRozan made one of his patented mid-range jumpers with 55 seconds left to tie the game. Both teams went back and forth but nothing was decided in that final minute and the extra session was needed. In that extra session both teams got open shot after open shot. Neither team missed much which led to a nip and tuck overtime. Down 1, Shai got fouled shooting a 3. He made all 3 to give the Thunder a 2 point lead. DeRozan took a contested jumper to tie it, missed and the Bulls had to foul Shai on the rebound. He made both and sealed the win for OKC 123-119. Shai ended up with a hard earned 30 on 8-21 shooting. Darius Bazely added 17 off the Thunder bench. For the Bulls, as usual, it was the DeRozan/LaVine show as they scored 30 and 27 respectfully but it wasn’t enough as the Thunder end a 3 game skid.
WED 11/23/22 Denver Nuggets 131 @ OKC Thunder 126 (OT)
MON 11/21/22 New York Knicks 129 @ OKC Thunder 119
Recap from Bobby Thompson
Last time the Oklahoma City Thunder and the New York Knicks battled, it was a track meet with the Thunder getting the upper hand 145-135. This time was also high scoring as the New York Knicks got revenge beating the Thunder 129-119. Lu Dort played great on both ends playing his usual defense and then going 9 of 14 from the field for 24 points and pulling down 8 boards. Josh Giddey had a near triple double with 18 point 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Shai scored 30 but it took him 22 shots so efficiency wasn’t his normal but he handed out 7 assists as well. The Knicks were led by Jalen Brunson with 34 and RJ Barrett and Julius Randall had 25 each to lead New York.
OKC has 2 more games on this home stand. Next up the Denver Nuggets, Wednesday night at 7.
FRI 11/18/22 OKC Thunder 110 @ Memphis Grizzlies 121
Recap from Bobby Thompson
On the final game of a four game road trip, the Thunder continued to play hard but they ran into a very talented and defensive oriented Memphis Grizzlies team. The Grizz outlasted OKC 121-110. This ends the road trip with the Thunder going 2-2. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander with a rare off night going 6 of 18 from the field for 15 points. Memphis all-star Ja Morant wasn’t any better going 5 of 20 for 19. Ja left the game with an ankle injury late in the 4th quarter. Jalen Williams (Santa Clara) scored a career high 16 points with 6 boards, 7 assists, and 2 steals. Jaren Jackson Jr. had, by far, his best game since coming back from injury with 25 points, 12 rebounds, 2 steals and 3 blocks. Thunder were out shot at the foul line as Memphis shot 29 more free throws then the Thunder, making 20 more. Thunder head home for a 3 game home stand which begins on Monday when they take on the New York Knicks. Tip-off is at 7.
WED 11/16/22 OKC Thunder 121 @ Washington Wizards 120
Recap from Bobby Thompson
The Oklahoma City Thunder continue to play good basketball. They win their second game out of three beating the Wizards 121-120. The Thunder are accustomed to overcoming big defecits but last night they had to do it twice. The Wizards thanks to seven threes in the first and seven more threes in the second, built a 17 point lead that the Thunder bench quickly erased. To Washington’s credit they were able to re-build the lead late in the second to take a 13 point lead at the half. Thunder Coach Mark Daigneault went with an unconventional lineup to start the third quarter and it paid off big as the 13 point lead was all but gone halfway through the third. The final 18 minutes of the game was nip and tuck as superstars Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Bradley Beal traded clutch shots until OKC and Gilgeous-Alexander got the last laugh on a step back 3 with 1.1 seconds remaining to give the Thunder the one point lead. Washington tried a cross court pass to set up a winning shot but Lu Dort, as usual, played excellent defense and the Thunder escape with the one point win.
Thunder finish up this four game road trip with Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies, Friday night at 7 pm.
MON 11/14/22 OKC Thunder 122 @ Boston Celtics 126
Recap from Bobby Thompson
The Oklahoma City Thunder, coming off of 2 very impressive wins over the Raptors and Knicks, had every opportunity to make it 3 in a row. They had a 12 point lead with under a minute left in the 3rd quarter and 8 with 7:47 left in the 4th. Unfortunately for OKC, that was when Marcus Smart went to work. In a game where Jason Tatum struggled shooting for the most part, Smart played with energy and led the Celtics comeback. His 3 with 1:48 left was the lead that the Thunder could not overcome. Shai was once again brilliant with 37 points and 8 assists and Aleksej Pokusevski had one of his more impressive games scoring 16, grabbing 14 boards and blocking 3 shots. The Celtics big two of Jason Tatum and Jalen Brown ended with 27 and 26 respectively and the Celtics escaped with the 126-122 win.
Next up for the Thunder is a Wednesday night tussle with the Washington Wizards. Tip time is 6:00.
SUN 11/13/22 OKC Thunder 145 @ New York Knicks 135
FRI 11/11/22 Toronto Raptors 113 @ OKC Thunder 132
WED 11/09/22 Milwaukee Bucks 136 @ OKC Thunder 132
Post-game recap from Bobby Thompson
This game couldn’t get much closer. The Oklahoma City Thunder and the Milwaukee Bucks were tied after the 1st quarter, the 2nd quarter, the 4th quarter, and the first OT but the Bucks outlast the Thunder 136-132 to run their record to 10-1 and drop the Thunder to 4-7. Shai was once again brilliant with 39 but he went cold in the 4th as did the rest of his Thunder teammates. The Thunder overcame another double digit 4th quarter deficit to force this game to overtime. In OT, Shai hit an incredibly tough step back 3 to give the Thunder the one point lead. A well run play by Milwaukee put Brook Lopez on the line with .2 seconds left but he was only able to hit 1 of 2 to tie the score and send it to a second OT. Thunder go cold in the second OT but still stayed within striking distance but the Thunder made their free throws and held on to win the game. Fantastic game inside Paycom Center.
Thunder back at it on Friday as they host the Toronto Raptors.
MON 11/07/22 OKC Thunder 103 @ Detroit Pistons 112
Post-game recap from Bobby Thompson
The Oklahoma City Thunder dropped their 3rd game in a row as they lose to the Detroit Pistons 112-103. It was a story of two halves as in the first half Shai was unstoppable going for 21 points and the Thunder scored at will taking a 15 point lead, 63-48, into halftime. Third quarter was a different story as the Pistons caught fire from 3 and the Thunder offense went cold. Cade Cunningham ( and Saddiq Bey came out aggressive in the 2nd half and led the Piston comeback. Former Thunder wingman, Hamidou Diallo added 11 points, 8 rebounds, and a ton of hustle to help that bench unit for Detroit. The Thunder were beaten soundly at the foul line as the Pistons shot 16 more free shots, making 14 more to help out their cause. Tough loss for OKC as this was only Detroit’s third win of the season.
It doesn’t get any easier for OKC as they head home to take on Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks, Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
SAT 11/05/22 OKC Thunder 94 @ Milwaukee Bucks 94
Post-game recap from Bobby Thompson
The Oklahoma City Thunder lost to the Milwaukee Bucks 108-94 on Saturday night. The Bucks are considered one of the best defensive teams in the league and they proved it against OKC holding them to 42% shooting but more importantly making Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s life tough as he scored a season low 18 points on 7-16 shots. Offensively, the Thunder started good but then struggled in the 2nd quarter only scoring 19 points. Both teams struggled in the 4th quarter. The Bucks hit their last shot from the field at the 7:22 mark and only added 2 free throws the rest of the way and the Thunder couldn’t take advantage. The Bucks won the rebounding battle 55-38 and including 18-9 on the offensive glass which helped the Bucks 6 more shots and extra possessions. No crime in losing to Milwaukee, especially on their home court.
The Oklahoma City Thunder will see the court again on Monday when they battle Cade Cunningham and the Detroit Pistons. Tip time is 6:30.
