GAME PREVIEWS

Matt Meyer: Oklahoma State returns to Boone Pickens Stadium on Saturday at 3-1 and 1-0 in Big 12 play. The Cowboys won their conference opener at West Virginia two weeks ago 41-24, outscoring the Mountaineers 38-10 over the final 41 minutes of the game. The Pokes racked up 609 yards of offense; 389 of those came through the air from Drew Mestemaker, 180 came from Caleb Hawkins on the ground, and Wyatt Young caught 8 passes for 192 yards. OSU struggled against West Virginia’s rushing attack, surrendering 335 yards on 66 carries, but the final four Mountaineer drives ended in either a turnover on downs or a punt, so credit the Pokes’ defense for coming up clutch late in the game.

Central Florida comes to Stillwater this Saturday at 11:00 AM on ESPN2. UCF is 3-2 on the season after falling at Houston on Saturday. RB Duke Watson should be the focus of OSU’s defense, as he’s ran for over 400 yards and over 8 yards per carry. The Knights should look to run the ball against a Cowboy defense that struggled against the run in Morgantown, and if they can have sustained success, they might be able to keep the ball away from the 2^nd ranked offense in all of college football. That’s UCF’s best chance to pull the upset. Otherwise, there’s no reason to think that the Pokes shouldn’t continue to pile up the points. Cowboys 38 Knights 20
