The game Tuesday between the visiting San Francisco Giants and Atlanta Braves was suspended because of rain and will be resumed on Wednesday at 2 p.m. ET. The regularly scheduled game will begin at 7:15 p.m.
Light rain was falling when the game began Tuesday and the umpires stopped the game in the middle of the second inning with the Giants leading 3-2.
The Giants scored a run in the first on a sacrifice fly by Jung Hoo Lee that drove home Luis Arraez.
Atlanta catcher Drake Baldwin, activated after missing 24 games with an oblique strain, led off the bottom of the first with a 473-foot homer to straightaway center field. The home run, Baldwin’s 14th, was the longest recorded in the majors this season.
The Braves scored another run when Michael Harris II scored on Mauricio Dubon’s RBI single. But Harris experienced back soreness and had to leave the game.
The Giants responded with two runs in the top of the second to take a 3-2 lead. Bryce Eldridge drew a bases-loaded walk and Matt Chapman followed with a sacrifice fly.
