The Houston Texans have ruled out running back Nick Chubb with a rib injury, while the host Kansas City Chiefs are without left tackle Wanya Morris and cornerback Trent McDuffie because of knee injuries sustained in Sunday night’s game.
The Texans downgraded Chubb from questionable to out after he played just six snaps in the first half and rushed one time for three yards.
Chubb, 29, has 115 carries for 472 yards and three touchdowns in 13 games (eight starts) in his first season in Houston.
He spent his first seven seasons in Cleveland, where he had 1,340 carries for 6,842 yards and 51 touchdowns in 97 regular-season games (86 starts). He was selected to the Pro Bowl four times.
The Browns selected him in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft out of Georgia.
McDuffie, 25, entered Sunday with 62 tackles, one sack, one interception, seven passes defensed and one forced fumble in 12 games (12 starts). He was credited with one tackle before he was downgraded from questionable to out against Houston.
Kansas City picked him 21st overall in the 2022 draft out of Washington. McDuffie was first-team All-Pro in 2023.
Morris, 25, has played in 12 games this season as a reserve. The Chiefs selected him in the third round of the 2023 draft out of Oklahoma.
