Chicago White Sox first baseman Tim Elko is recovering from surgery Tuesday to repair a torn right ACL.
An estimated eight-month rehabilitation timeline means Elko, 26, will miss at least half of the 2026 season.
Elko made his major league debut in May and batted .134 with four homers and eight RBIs in 23 games.
It’s not clear when he sustained the injury, but Elko spent most of July on the injured list with a right knee sprain.
A 10th-round pick in 2022 out of Ole Miss, Elko has batted .289 with 77 homers and 265 RBIs in 390 games across four seasons in the minors.
