Matt Meyer: Sooners got back on track with a workmanlike, and at times dominating win over South Carolina. The defense was fantastic, holding the Gamecocks to 224 yards and forcing 2 turnovers while racking up 6 sacks and 13 tackles for loss. Oklahoma established a running game with Tory Blaylock (19 carries, 101 yards, 1 TD) and Xavier Robinson (11 carries, 58 yards, 1 TD) both averaging over 5 yards a carry. That’s a welcome sign for an offense that has struggled to control the line of scrimmage. John Mateer only threw for 150 yards, but he didn’t turn the ball over and made the high percentage throw more often than not.
