Reports: Ex-LSU, Georgia TE Arik Gilbert is headed to Nebraska

Arik Gilbert is headed to his third college football team.The former five-star tight end is transferring to Nebraska, according to multiple media reports, after playing at LSU for one season and Georgia for two seasons.Gilbert played in only three games for the national champion Bulldogs last season, catching two passes for 16 yards. He didn’t play at all in the 2021 season, sitting it out for personal reasons, according to Georgia coach Kirby Smart.Gilbert had a breakout freshman season at LSU in 2020 with 35 catches for 368 yards and two touchdowns, before he transferred to Georgia.While neither Gilbert nor Nebraska has confirmed his transfer, he is enrolled at Nebraska and could start classes Monday, when the spring semester begins, according to 247 Sports. Per the report, Gilbert visited Nebraska last weekend and is listed in the school’s student directory.
