Michigan State P Hartbarger, WR Sowards get 6th season

Starting punter Jake Hartbarger and wide receiver Brandon Sowards will be back at Michigan State in 2019 after the NCAA granted them a sixth year of eligibility, the school announced Thursday.Hartbarger injured his right leg against Arizona State on Sept. 8 and missed the rest of the 2018 season. Michigan State had to rely on four starting punters.He entered last season as a Ray Guy Award candidate, having averaged 42.1 yards per punt during his career.
