Fox hires Meyer, Bush for new pregame show

Fox Sports has hired former Ohio State coach Urban Meyer and former Southern California running back Reggie Bush to join a college football pregame show launching this fall, the network announced on Monday.They will join host Rob Stone, former USC quarterback Matt Leinart and former Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn on the planned one-hour program.”Urban and Reggie will make fantastic additions to our already impressive college football roster, and we’re looking forward to seeing Brady shine in his new role,” Fox Sports National Networks president Mark Silverman said in a statement. “We think that this entire lineup will educate and entertain viewers with the unique FOX attitude that viewers are familiar with.”Multiple reports have claimed the show is expected to be a direct challenger to ESPN’s “College GameDay.”The Sporting News reported in January that Meyer and Fox Sports were nearing a deal that would allow the 54-year-old Meyer to have his choice of working as an analyst in the studio or in the broadcast booth.Meyer worked as a studio analyst for ESPN in 2011 after leaving Florida and before taking the Ohio State job.
