In early November, BYU and Virginia announced a home-and-home series that would begin in 2013. Four months later, they've announced more of the same for a little further down the road.
In joint press releases, the two schools announced that another home-and-home series has been scheduled for 2019 and 2020. The Cougars will travel to Charlottesville Sept. 7, 2019, while the Cavaliers will return the favor in Provo Sept. 19, 2020.
The previously announced games are scheduled for Aug. 31, 2013 (Charlottesville), and Sept. 20, 2014 (Provo).
"The extension of the series with BYU is a result of our efforts to adjust our non-conference schedule in 2013," said UVa. athletic director Jon Oliver in a statement. "We look forward to the four-game series against a quality football program with a proven track record of success."
The 2013 game, which will serve as the season opener for both schools, will be the fourth meeting between the two football programs, with the most recent occurring during the 2000 season. BYU holds a 2-1 edge in the "series."
