James Harrison apparently wants to be a Steeler.
The Steelers might like that too, but not at his current salary.
The difference between those two positions might make Harrison a former Steeler soon.
According to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, negotiations on a restructured deal haven't gotten anywhere, increasing the odds the linebacker could be released.
Harrison's scheduled to make $6.57 million this year, and $7.575 million next year. But the Steelers want to pay the 34-year-old less than that.
"We absolutely want to do this, we absolutely want to be in Pittsburgh," agent Bill Parise said, but didn't comment further.
After drawing a line in the sand earlier by saying he didn't think Harrison should have to take a pay cut, there's not that much more for him to say.
