Initially expected to compete for playing time this spring along Ohio State's new defensive line, defensive end Se'von Pittman will instead be transferring from the program.
Ohio State confirmed that it had granted Pittman (not pictured) his request to transfer to the Cleveland Plain-Dealer and Columbus Dispatch. Although not confirmed, it's reported that the request to transfer stems from an off-field issue. It's believed Pittman's new destination will be Louisville.
Pittman, a four-star member of the Buckeyes' 2012 recruiting class, and one who flipped from Michigan State to OSU following the hire of Urban Meyer, redshirted this past season while dealing with a knee injury.
The departure brings Ohio State down to 82 scholarship players, which would satisfy the NCAA's sanctions against the program.
